Trade License
A trading license is a Toy within Adopt Me! that is required to do certain trades. With a trade license, you can do the following types of trades:
- Trade Ultra Rare and Legendary Pets
- View recent Trade History
- Trade Houses
- Report trades
How do I get a Trade License?
To get your trade license, go to the Safety Hub and talk to Agent Jake. From there, he will ask you if you want to take the Trade License test. Get all 3 questions right, and you will get the Trade License! Don't worry if you get any questions wrong, though, you can take the test as many times as you need!
Can I trade my Trade License?
No, you are unable to trade your Trade License away.
How can I see trades made before I had my Trade License?
To see these trades you can either view the Trade History book next to Agent Lily or use your Trade License to see these trades once you've earned it.
Trades in my license have disappeared! What do I do?
This is normal! In order to remain in compliance with data privacy laws, certain data may be deleted after a certain period of time. As a result, older trades may not be available to view or report. Please note that if you are unable to see it in your Trade History, Support is also unable to see it on their end, so if you have a trade you need to report do it ASAP.
Someone reported me, but I didn't do anything wrong!
- Adopt Me will never ban a player without proof.
- An Adopt Me Team Member must look at a report before a ban is made, there is no “automated system” that detects and bans players.
- If we review your report and don’t see any proof of scamming, no one will be banned.
How does someone actually get banned?
- We will ban a player if we can find proof that a scam happened.
- We will not ban players that are reported without reason or are falsely reported.
- We can tell the difference between a real scam and a fake scam, so you won’t be banned for receiving a gift that you didn’t ask for.
- You also won’t be banned for refusing a trade with another player. Only trades that have happened can be reported in the Trade License history.
Please do not submit fake reports! - If you submit too many fake reports, we may remove your ability to report other players.
The report button is not a toy! - You should treat it with the same respect that you would treat the fire alarm in a school. Please don’t touch it unless you’ve really been scammed.
What is the new trade reporting system?
On June 23rd 2025, we added the ability to have trades be automatically reversed if someone you reported in the Trade License has been banned for 19 days.
What kind of trades can I have returned with this system?
Any trade that can be identified as a hack or scam can be reversed with this system. Please note that we still do not reverse trades that are either made with regret or made due to someone accessing your account due to device security (examples include a younger sibling accessing your device or leaving your account logged in on a public device).
Do I need to contact Adopt Me Support to get my pets or items back?
No. Once a trade is reported in-game using the Trade License or in the Safety Hub, this report has been given to our support staff who will investigate and handle the issue.
Is there a time limit on how long I have to report a trade?
The only time limit is how long it is in the Trade License. Once a trade leaves the Trade License, it can no longer be reported or reviewed. Beyond that, however, there is no time limit. Trades leave the Trade License after around 3-4 months depending on how frequently you trade.
How long does it take to get my pets or items back?
It can take a minimum of 19 days to receive a return on your pets or items. This is to allow the banned player a chance to appeal the ban.
I haven't heard anything regarding my trade report, what happened?
If you haven't heard anything regarding your trade report, it could be for one of the following reasons:
- 19 days has not passed yet
- The trade was determined to not be against our rules
- The player was banned but successfully appealed
At this time, we will only inform you if your report caused a player to be banned permanently from the game.
Why haven’t you banned the player I’ve reported?
While we take action on most reports that we receive, that doesn’t mean their actions line up with the punishment you expect.
We have policies in place that allow most users to receive some form of punishment without restricting them from the game entirely, such as trade banning and temporary suspension.
Are pets or items that have been returned tradeable?
At this time, anything returned through this system is permanently untradeable in order to prevent system abuse. As the system develops and we gather additional data and player feedback, this may change to an untradeable period in the future.
Am I limited on how many returns I can get?
No, there is no hard limit on how many returns you can get with this new system.
I still have an old trade on my profile but not in my trade license! Can I use this for a report instead?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept trade records that are shown on profiles. This is due to technical limitations involving profile trades not having the necessary data for our support tools to reverse the trade.
